Shed Venting

My shed of 17 years needs it's shingled roof redone. My question is about venting the shed. It has a gambrel barn style roof. Can I use a ridge vent? Or does anyone have a better idea. I think the lack of venting led to the shingles curling and becoming brittle. They were 25 year shingle.

RE: Siding

I used Smartside last year and i really liked it. I put sheets of Iso under it to beef up the r value. It took two coats of paint on top of the pre primed surface, and don't forget to paint bottom edges and cut ends. I cut the sheets with a fine tooth blade. It cost about $18 a sheet last year. They...

Keeps it at 78 in the living room where it is located and 74 in the other rooms. Outside temps in the 30's during the day and mid teens at nit...

Deck Steps

Is there a way to make deck steps less slippery from ice and snow?
They are made out of pressure treated SYP. They have not been stained or painted yet maybe next year. We had a hard frost yesterday and they were very slippery.

RE: Bathroom Vent

JD I forgot to mention in my original post that I was having the roof done. What is the approximate cost of the part of the vent that's on the roof? And what is it called?

RE: Bathroom Vent

Thanks Jim for the quick reply but I really want to avoid buying mobile home replacement parts. I would rather go to HD or Lowe's.

Bathroom Vent

I want to change the vent in the bathroom. I suspect the damper is not closing tightly. Can I get one anywhere or do I have to get it at a mobile home parts store? Also want to change the fan in the bath to a less noisy one.Image

Roof

Is it wise to re shingle over an existing shingle roof The three tab ones that are on there now are showing their age, but they are intact My home is a 89 Champion DW
Northern zone roof. I really don't want to take them off due to the ton of staples that they used. I counted ten in one shingle alone.

Compact Fluorescent Lights

Does any one know if you can use Compact Fluorescent Lights in a ceiling fan? I know the fan I bought came with three bulbs that can withstand the vibrations.

Enclosed Porch

A while back there was some instructions and pictures for an enclosed porch that I think Mark had built. It was on the last forum but I can't seem to find it here. Any help would be great.
