Re: Hey all you drywall gurus out there....

When you put up the drywall did you screw or nail it? If screws did you put the screws on the edges of the sheet at 8" intervals? If nails then on ceilings you are suppose to double nail it every 8". Also I would use the tape that Lowes now carries that is a mesh type that is reel thin. Do...

Re: Anybody good with CPU tweaking?

Usually there is an area in the BIOS but mayne yours does not have it.
You can try this program. I have not used this one but I think it is made by AMD.

Re: self levelling compound

By the way that you are describing the bottom of the home I would say that you should have a professional look into what is going on. If the home is not in contact with it's supports there may be some major problem that will not go away just by leveling the floor with the compound. As for the drywal...

Re: self levelling compound

For starters, What is making the floor tilt? Is there too much weight on that side? Are your outriggers underneath OK? As JD said you can feather the edge of the compound with 80 to 100 grit sanding block if it does not come out to good at the edge. How much do you have to come up to be level?

Re: Problems once again

Do you get anything when you set the thermostat switch to FAN? Also see if there is a way to reset your thermostat if it is a digital one. There might be a little hole that you have to press a paper clip into to reset the stat. This happened to one that I had once after a power failure.

Re: Water heater question

I have not seen them on newer models but on older models some of them have a separate door outside that leads to the hot water closet.
Just a thought.

Looks good so far. Keep up the good work. One thing, In the top pictures the sixth picture down is that door in backwards? It looks like the inside should be the outside. Just a thought.

Re: Do I mud moisture proof drywall in bathroom?

Just to jump in, Make sure that your shower is suppose to go over the drywall. If it is a full unit it might be designed to go right to the studs. The you drywall around it.

Re: cordless impact drill

Hi Dean, Most impact drills that I have used have a impact right from the start. Even the smaller 1/4" drive ones. Does your drill have a regular chuck for inserting the bits or is it like a ratchet connection? Are you sure your drill does not have an adjustable clutch? Most of my drills have t...

Re: Vinyl Siding

If there is vinyl siding on there now you should have no problem removing it and replacing with the vinyl soffit material. They both go on the same way it's just that the soffit type material that I guess you want is called vertical siding.

Re: horizontal strips in walls are ????

I might be wrong but I think if you put the 3/4" drywall up you better make sure it will handle the weight. The outside walls of older mobiles have an outrigger that sticks out to hold the wall up. Most don't have a frame that goes all the way around the full outside perimeter. Those horizontal...

Re: What Should be under vinyl siding?

If you are going to remove the siding to put something like 7/16th OSB sheathing and then Tyvek on just do it in sections and you should be OK. Just lay out the siding on the ground the same way it was on the house. Start removal from the top. One thing that you might run into is around the windows ...

Re: CPVC to PEX for intermediate plumbing

Are you sure it is CPVC and not just PVC? I know PVC is just for drains but someone might have made a change before. If it is CPVC and is 1/2" (5/8 O.D.) any big box store should have the transition connector. I have used them a couple of times. It is a glue on (for cpvc) to a crimp on (for pex...

Re: Waste Lines rework

Hi Ron. I recently purchased a 70's mobile that has a full length 10 year old stick addition all across the front. The whole thing was then covered with a typical shingled roof. I dry walled the MH half (vertical only), and installed a whole new bathroom and kitchen. I also installed a second bathr...

Maybe I can include some pics if I figure out how. When you hit the reply button just look below for the UPLOAD ATTACHMENT tab and you then upload your picture. I noticed your concrete block piers are stacked using cement. Nice job. Rarely seen down here. Harry, My place is basically an older pre-f...
