Re: replace all water lines?

Bah – easy peasy. My next plumbing replacement will be using a pex manifold. Fewer fittings, less crimps, less loss of pressure. Google it Go up through belly by strategically placed slits, and then belly repair with spray glue. Maybe even add some insulation along the way. Run the tubing along the ...

Re: feed line

My county requires pex as one of the options to meet county code. Funny that they nixed 1" black poly water supply line, and which is kinda, ahem, the standard.

And smoking weed is legal in WA now... For county code changers too I guess

Re: winter sewer

2 days? Pee outside, poop in a trash bag in a bucket and leave it outside to stay frozen - take it with you when you leave. But only if you can't hold it for two days - minimize fiber on this trip.

If that's too primitive, then I vote that your idea will be ok

Re: Hot water heater leaking!

They make a drain pan for a HWT - it is a big round cake pan with a hole in the side for a fitting to which you attach a drain pipe/hose/tube that is routed outside. Then this won't be as likely to cause floor problems. If you find that you have to pull the tank, strongly consider getting a pan unde...

Re: Bathroom wall material?

FRP is very light - it's those bubbly panels you see in the gas station restrooms. It is my preference for bathrooms in my MH rentals. It may look too commercial for your home. For the enclosure, ceramic tile over hardibacker is durable and attractive, and less susceptible to cracking since it it a ...

Thanks for the reply - you'll notice by checking the dates on posts that this project finished 2 months ago. Too late to change it now . . .

Re: Cheapest house in town, My house.

Ya know, I always think the same thing when I see construction projects: houses, commercial bldgs, etc. They put up sheathing on the exterior walls and roofs, and it sits out in the rain sometimes for weeks. Then they side or roof over it . . . WTH??

Re: 1969 mobile home renovation

No one has said it, so I will: 1/2" OSB is not a great choice for your floor. I know it's cheaper, but please use a 5/8" or 3/4" plywood. Unless you plan to put a subfloor layer over your OSB; 1/2" is just too thin of a product that is barely better than particle board. Better to...

I always do. A bucket of oops latex paint is good and cheap and adequate to seal if smell or visible stains are not an issue - cheap insurance

Re: cat pee stains in wood floor

I disagree with Dani - soaking an existing MH floor with anything that permeates is a bad idea. If you aren't comfortable that Kilz will do what you need, cutting and replacing is guaranteed, and not that big of a deal
