OK, I can understand that but how about addressing airflow and temps per your reply above, should I have it tested by an hvac tech? I plan on using them for a few months anyway as my modifications will not allow me to return them and then go to a hogs hair filter. Will it be OK for airflow without d...

Hogs hair filter sounds really a light filter. I did stay with the correct size cut on one end, re-taped and it does lay flat. From the local box store a 3M Filtrete 1000 MPR, 16 x 20 x 1 (Red packaging)

But there inlays the problem, You state the go in laying sideways.........the 16" vertically and the 20" horizontally yet the furnace cover measures 19 3/8" wide making the 20" bend and not lay flat. An aside, the manual you linked me to gave the same dimensions but it gave no pi...

Thaks for the quick response but I apoligize for the slow return as the furnace is 25 miles north at my mother-in-laws but here it is.
