RE: tub questions
Thanks for the info JD. Do you mean that you use regular drywall and the Ames Research primer and paint? Where do you get the Ames?

tub questions
The tub is a 54 x 27, metal with top coat. It has a metal front panel below the rim of the tub. This panel is rusting. Someone has attempted to repair the rust areas, but been unsuccessful. http://mobilehomerepair.com/phpbb/userpix/743_DSCN1707_1.jpg http://mobilehomerepair.com/phpbb/userpix/743_DSC...

Oops, Releveled, now for outriggers
Guess my dial up connection, did not do so well the last time I tried to post. Anyway.... I had the trailer releveled on Sunday. They crew used the water line method like in Mark's book. The hole job came to $250, and took several hours. My singlewide was 2" low on one front corner compared to ...

Releveled, now to install outriggers
Just had my single wide releveled this sunday. Always wondered why it felt like I was heading downhill when I walked to the front of the house, now I know. The front corner was 2" lower than the high end at the rear and 1" off from one I-beam to the other. I was really lucky also, and none...

RE: bent outriggers
Thanks for the response JD. I have noticed from other posts that using the outriggers should help support standard kitchen and bath floor cabinets, and that I can level the floor using plywood if necessary for installing level cabinets. I believe that installing the extra outriggers under the kitche...

bent outriggers
Crawling around under my 1978 12x60 trailer, getting ready for winter, I noted that the original outriggers of metal seem to be crumpled along the outer edge. I noted earlier that their is a decided list or dip of the floor to one side of the trailer if you check out the floors in the trailer and th...

Trailerwrap project - cool remodel
Hello, Has anyone checked out the Trailerwrap project website, http://www.trailerwrap.net This is a really neat (cool) remodel of a single wide trailer. Very modern (or mid-century modern) look. I was kind of disappointed in the project since they demolished the complete trailer down to the central ...

New skirting finished
I finally have my new vinyl skirting installed on my trailer!! yeah. I wanted to thank all (esp. JD) for giving me advice before I started the project. I ended up using vinyl skirting ordered through the discount place on this website and it worked really well. I did buy a very large paper cutter ju...

RE: 1977 homette skyline trailer is now mine....work begins
Thanks for the advice. Took me awhile to get back to the forum. I've been moving and traveling up to Glass Mtn to do geothermal reviews. Yep, my trailer has a flat roof, so maybe the wall fan will be a better idea. The roof has a 3" roof "cap"? which I would have to go thru as well. A...

1977 homette skyline trailer is now mine....work begins
I closed on my fixer up MH last week, so now I am a proud MH owner, and now, while moving in slowly, I'm having the fixer up begin. last friday I had a plumber in to take out the water heater so I could install new flooring under it. That went without a hitch, but I did get to see how the galvanized...

PEX in california
My new/old mobile home has galvanized pipes. I am planning to re-plumb it, and have read a lot of topics in this forum on PEX. When I google PEX use in California to look for PEX plumbing regs, all I find is the controversy over whether the state will allow this. So, are there any CA mobile home mem...

How do you close vents in slotted vinyl skirting? Does it come with that option.? The current old metal skirting has slots also, and I can not see a way to close them off, unless I put tape over them.

To Instulate or not to insulate....skirting
Ok, I found out I will probably get the Mobile Home I bid on in a Park in Willits CA. I am the one with termites in the skirting wood. Anyway, I have been looking at skirting options, and I am wondering if anyone can give me advice on whether to insulate the skirting or not. Willits does receive sno...
