I painted my kitchen cabinets
I finally got the nerve to paint my kitchen cabinets and I'm glad I did. I've been wanting to do it for about 5 years now but was afraid it would not turn out. I was so tired of the dark cabinets and the dark floor together. I wanted to paint them white to brighten up the place. I talked to the sale...

Re: bringing down the kitchen!
I really like it without the overhead cabinets. It really looks open now. I think you made the right decision, it really looks nice. Good job!

Re: Install new window
Well the new window I bought here from the Mobile Home Parts Store was installed. No more dark bathroom........ it's hard to believe how much light this small window gives me. It also lets in a nice breeze. I'm so glad I had it done.

Re: Install new window
The siding is the modern siding you see on most new homes. The one thing I was worried about like you said is the fact that I could have a water leak if it's not done properly. I'll be sure to hire a qualified window installer. I'm pretty excited to get it done.

Install new window
I bought a 14" x 27" window to have installed in my bathroom. I need more light and I think it would be wonderful to be able to raise a window to help with the steam from taking showers. The question I have is it going to be a relatively easy install for someone who knows what they are doi...

Re: Old and new exterior pictures
There are some flaws in the siding that are noticeable up close, but yeah, I guess I wanted a different color. Once I realized it needed a new roof I decided the siding will have to wait.

Old and new exterior pictures
I posted pictures awhile back of the interior with the new paint, laminate floors, molding and new windows and now I'm about done with the exterior. As you can see, I put on a new metal roof, shutters, skirting and vinyl railing. I would love to have new vinyl siding, but that will have to wait for ...

Re: Cats using flower beds as litterbox!!!
Maybe you could talk to the Park Office about the cat problem. Our Park does not allow dogs at all and only allows inside cats. Occasionally you will see a cat that probably got out when someone opened the door, but that's rare. It does make for a nicer neighborhood without barking dogs and cats goi...

Metal roofs
Has anyone put one of the new colored metal roofs on their mobile home? I'm going to be putting one on in a month or so, but can't decided on a color. I'm leaning toward the burgandy, but that's one of the colors that doesn't qualify for the energy credit. My next choice I think is the slate blue. M...

Re: Remodel
The bathroom was wallpapered so we took that off and repainted. It already had new vinyl flooring so I didn't have to do much in there at all. Hope your painting goes well!

Re: Remodel
Sorry it took me so long to respond to some of your questions, but I've been busy with the holidays and haven't been on-line for awhile. To answer some of your questions, the mobile home is 14 x 70. I used Kilz primer and Valspar paint. The shade is "Carmel" which I painted most of the wal...

Remodel
I bought this home in August and have just recently finished the remodel. The kitchen cabinets, sink and counter tops were in pretty good shape, as was everything in the bathroom. The only thing I had done was new double hung windows, laminate hardwood floors and we painted the wallboard. I'm going ...

RE: Kilz preminum primer compatibility question
Thanks JD.....I was a little wary of painting that wallboard, but feel more comfortable now.
