Re: replacing wallboard with sheetrock
Thanks Greg for your reply, I feel a little less concerned now! I guess if there is any upside, this is an inside wall so no door or windows jams.

replacing wallboard with sheetrock
We've recently found a slow hot water leak. Unfortunately 1 entire wall of wallboard (smoochy & mold) had to be removed along with carpet in bathroom (yay!, hated that). My husband wants to replace wall with standard 1/2" sheetrock instead of the 3/8" that was there. Is that a good ide...

Is it a/or will it be a problem if house wrap is used?
Not to highjack this thread BUT... we're finally getting finished with our flood repairs and the insulation guy used house wrap. IF this is going to be a problem down the road I want to address it with our insurance guy NOW.
TIA
Sherri

RE: laminate flooring...
We have laminate in our great room/dining room after removing carpeting. If putting over linoleum you might be able to get by with just putting the moisture barrier over it.

RE: Need some help with transforming a door...
I'm looking at my bi fold doors now....you should be able to side hinge the bi fold doors easily. You will need to remove the middle hinges and fill in holes. I'm not sure if all bi fold come with middle hinge non-mortised or not. Mine are not mortised so filling in screw holes would be easy. It see...

Depends on exactly what you plan on planting, how swampy is swampy?, type of soil etc. As far as the 'new' green lumber that is took the place of the old arsenic laced pressure treated lumber. I'm not really sure what is used to make it 'treated'. Also is this area swampy because of runoff from some...

RE: 6 x 12 greenhouse for starting plants
I love your greenhouse! It sounds like you are off on a good foot with heating and cooling. We installed an attic fan with a thermostat in our solor hoop greenhouse along with having a couple of vents. That seems to help BUT it only takes a tiny bit of sun to really heat it up quick. I will also pro...

I didn't see much of the race but what I did see of it, it seemed 24 was rolling! No Gordon fan here, but nice to see someone other than 48 in winners circle! LOL
I'm just so glad Tony is running as well as he is.

Welcome to the forum!
Measure the door thickness....I think that regular door knobs will work with exterior doors but measuring will ensure the proper fit.

RE: what to expect from insurance co. re: water damage **UPD
Still sitting in chaos BUT new cabinets should be here next week then the flooring will go in. So hopefully within the next 2 weeks all will be back in place and normal living can resume! :) The only concern we have had is with the pricing on replacing the flooring EVEN with replacement cost. Appare...

Beautiful!!!
What countertop and flooring did you use? We are in the midst of an unexpected kitchen remodel because of water damage and your kitchen looks similar to what I'd like.
