RE: Burning smell after power outage

Hi Robert! Thanks for checking in. I am not having a problem since we haven't had any power outages, but I was wondering if you had any answers to my questions/theories above. We won't run the furnace unless we are home, or awake!. We still have the issue of the pilot going out when the furnace shut...

Burning smell after power outage

Furnace model #7710-856 Presidential II The furnace was running while there was a power outage. Within a few minutes, I noticed a bad burning smell coming from the furnace (filled the house actually :(~ ), and the furnace doors were hot! I immediately shut the main gas valve off and the gas valve, a...

RE: Coleman7710-856

Hello, I am not an HVAC expert by any means, but I had a similar problem, as my booster motor ran and ran (I have the same furnace as you). It turns out that the centrifugal switch (inside the motor) was bad. I replaced the motor (you cannot replace just the switch in this unit), and that solved the...

RE: Pilot problems on Coleman presidential II

Thanks, Robert. :) I will check the above things.

Also, I notice the pilot has a split flame, and from what I read could be from a dirty pilot tube? You did mention that, so we'll go from there.

I have the same problem. I am just going to buy an entire exterior panel, which costs about $64. I am in Michigan, too.

Repairing loose crossover duct

I had an issue of heat not blowing to one side of the home, and come to find BOTH sides of the crossover duct are completely off of the house! Anyways, my brother went under there to rig it up a little, but is wondering what is the best way to reconnect the ends to the ducts of the house? We t...

Cleaning A-Coil- AC line concerns

Hello to all again. I need to clean the A-Coils in my furnace for the air conditioner. They are packed with dust, unfortunately, and I am sure that's why I wasn't getting cold air through my vents. :( Anyways, I have a metal cover to seal off the a-coil area, and it has a small window on that cover ...

Adding oil to draft inducer/booster motor

I have a few questions re: the draft inducer/booster motor, so I thought I would combine them all in one post (hope everyone doesn't mind). I have a Coleman presidential II model, and the motor p/n is 770-8314 (the approx 8 inch cylindrical black motor). 1) Before I call a repair man out, I wanted t...
