RE: Painting Exterior Aluminum Siding

Thank you everyone for all of the great information. I want it to last and I know it takes more labor. I'll just have to butch up and get out there. [/b]

RE: Painting Exterior Aluminum Siding

My SW has the original baked on painted verticle aluminum siding from the factory. When I run my hand or a rag across it, there is no chalky oxidation at all. If it looked nice I wouldn't bother at all with painting but it is really ugly. It looks like they tried to make it look like wood grain or s...

filter for A-Coil

I was told by an Hvac repairman that I can lay a washable piece of filter directly onto the A-coil for filtration instead of trying to tape filters inside the vented door where my AC system is located. Will this harm the A coil in any way? Thanks, Rosemary

Electrical wires beneath underbelly

I was beneath my mobile home today and noticed that there are bunches of very thin wires that obviously were intentionally wrapped around the steel beams. I did not closely examine or crawl around too much. I noticed that a red wire and a white wire were not connected to anything and just lying on t...

RE: Coating metal roof

Thanks Guys, And JD has responded to me before. I guess I was being swayed. JD has given me good advice. I think I will leave my roof alone for now. I recently placed gutters and was a bit squeamish as they walked along the roof. Am hoping that they did no damage. Will see. Thank You all, so wonderf...

Coating metal roof

I have a yr 2000 SW. I was just approached by a man to coat my roof with Henry Roof Coating. For one coat he is asking $325.00 I asked him about cleaning it first. That is extra. My roof is in good condition which he also commented on, no rust but I am sure I could clean some dirt off if I tried. Sh...

hvac unit will not turn off

Turned on heater today, the heat works, the ac gets cold but would not turn off no matter where I turned thermostat or turned to off position. Last week, when I turned on ac, I had to turn thermostat down to around 50 degrees before ac would kick in. Had to turn off breaker. Could it be thermostat? ...

RE: Gutters or roof overhang?

Thanks Greg. I think I am going to go with the gutters. As far as I know the roof is ok but it has never had the rubber sealant painted on so thought it might not be in the best of shape. I considered a new roof just because It would be new and durable. I am trying to get my home in the best shape t...

Gutters or roof overhang?

Is it better to have seamless gutters with 4 downspouts on my singlewide or a metal roof placed with overhang? I cant afford them both and want to ensure that my house stays dry. I got a good estimate for the gutters, not sure about the cost of roof. If I replace roof, I am interested in the corruga...

RE: kitchen pics in primer

That looks really nice. Now, I MUST paint my wood grain cabinets white. So much cleaner looking. So, did you just put 2 coats of primer or did you paint over the primer? Can the cabinets just be painted with latex without primer? Rosemary

RE: Leaking front door/0sb on floor rotting

I am meeting with another guy tomorrow. He has worked on MH'S before and stated that the problem with removing the rotten osb board floor is that part of the wall must be removed since the floor goes beneath the wall. Is that true? Cant the rotten board just be cut out and new board slid underneath ...
