RE: Roofing Issue
Hi Hipernb, I have lived here for 20 years and I put markers on my front addition and without frost-line footers, it has not moved more than an inch in those 20 years. Most times the 2 buildings move in unison, not on their own. As a matter of fact in this 100 unit Mobile Park it is forbidden to hav...

RE: Shorten a URL?
There should be a caveat that such links be very carefully spelled out what they are.
Not everyone wants to visit sites that are dial-up intensive or advertising, etc.
We should not make extra work for Mods having to check out each link.

RE: painting rusty screws
When I painted my siding I replaced the rusty hex screws with 8x1 Metal screws with Truss Socket heads from HD. The flatter dome heads look neater than hex and resemble aircraft rivets. I painted over them for extra protection and if needed the paint can easily be removed for resetting. I also used ...

RE: Replacing Door Frame
I know your posting read Replace a frame but another thing you could try is to make your own door to fit the frame if it is in good shape. Someone was kind enough to leave a small door behind and with a little work I was able to build a fitted strong wooden entrance door. Most Mobile interior doors ...

RE: setup diagram
I checked about 3 mobiles around me and not ONE has any perimeter blocking so your advice doesn't apply around here and actually would make it worse.
And can you show me in any diagrams where they are used to back up your opinion?

RE: Storm Windows
You might look for clear plastic mirror mounts at a dollar store or HD. You might have to mount them reversed to hold the window.
I also used washers in a pinch.

RE: Hardwood shims
Depending on how thick the shims you want I get mine from parts pallets that are not re-used. Check the receiving areas of stores or ask at lumber dealers for any Parts pallets they will give you. Just cut to size, mostly all hardwood.

RE: Any recommendations for a digital camera?
This is a great site that I went to to compare cams b4 I got my Kodak years ago. Good to compare ones that you are interested in.
Also check for battery life and a charger base cost.

Further to the sun angles here is a comparison for Mark's home in Aberdeen SD @ N. Lat. 45.5
If you notice the angles are almost the same for Mar-Sept and Feb-Oct.
Planetary movements. LOL

RE: Installing Grab Bars?
Don't be misled by the use of the words "studs". As I found out there were only 2x1" vertical slats behind my tubwall. I removed the panelling in the bedroom and installed 2 2x6" to screw the bar into. Just make sure you measure and write down the location of the studs for future...

RE: Keeping a busy desk organized
Two key words I noticed are "pile" and "lay down". Long b4 computers the Mail Service used vertical slots for sorting mail. Maybe you could try that system. Nothing fancy, just in your line of sight, but sorted. Maybe even a DVD storage rack on it's side? http://www.transendworld...
