Re: How tall is the inside of our mobile home.

Our home is kind of a mix; we have 7' ceilings in half the home (a hallway, bathroom, laundry area and in the two bedrooms) and a tall, peaked ceiling in the living and kitchen areas. Our home is from the 1980's, an Astro.

Re: Amazingly cheap particle board floor

Also, many mobile homes are built with the floor joist running lengthways to the home instead of side to side, These are the homes i see with the worst problems of the floor edge bending down. I've never seen a MH with floor joists running lengthways, learn something new everyday. What holds them u...

Hey Lisa,
I'm glad you saw my question and replied; that's really reasonable, cost-wise. Thanks for the post and cost info! :D

Re: Vinyl Floor planks- WOW!

Hi Lisa,
It's been awhile since you posted this, but if you see this and if you don't mind, would you please tell us approx. how much that section cost you? It's very attractive. And did you get it locally at a store or did you order online? Thanks, great job!

Thanks for all your work Greg! It's not just this group, either; I belong to many Yahoo groups and everyone seems to be under attack. Sign of the bad economic times everywhere, I guess!

Re: Earthquake in VT

It could be delivering in Mud Season  We found out it was in lower Maine, over 150 miles away. It was a bit scary, but no damage done.

Earthquake in VT

Hey! I was just sitting here reading the repair forum when the table shook, the windows rattled and I called out to hubbs in the living room (I was at my computer in the bedroom) "Did you feel that?" He did, and we called my sister and her hubby next door - they felt it, too. Just submitte...

Re: Biggest window size that's "safe"?

Good points! When we actually get some windows, I will ask at the Town Clerk's office if they can point me in the right direction. I think I misunderstood what you meant by building inspector. I was thinking of the so-called professional home inspector who works for the banks, making sure the place ...

Re: Biggest window size that's "safe"?

Greg S., no proposed renovation yet in the works - just "kickin the tires." Would you believe I didn't know you had to have a building inspector ok window replacement? Yes, you probably would :) But seriously, if I see a deal on a nice window too good to pass up, I may ask hubby if we can ...

Re: Biggest window size that's "safe"?

:D Awesome, thanks folks! Since we have the lengthwise joists, and not much to support the outer walls, I am thinking the larger windows would be limited to maybe two, but was expecting to have to rebuild the wall anyway. These walls are mush under each current (metal) window, and are most likely ma...

Biggest window size that's "safe"?

Hi Everyone, We're still plodding away on our toilet (installed a replacement)/floor/underneath insulation project and I need more projects like a hole in the head, but I keep seeing really, really nice windows on C.List and have a question for you all. What is the largest size of window that's ok t...
